Wooltrace is the second yarn from Laxtons own brand, launched in summer 2023. This yarn has been created in collaboration with The Woolkeepers, an initiative that works in co-operation with sheep farmers and manufacturers in the UK to ensure a fully traceable supply chain.
Wooltrace is therefore a fully traceable yarn made from 100% British wool; a yarn that supports fair pay for farmers and kind treatment of animals, while making a positive environmental and social change.
But here's what makes Wooltrace truly unique: on every skein of yarn, you'll find a QR code and a batch number. By scanning this QR code or entering the number on a website, you'll find full details of all the farms that supplied wool to the batch used to spin your skein: the names and locations of the farms and breeders, the breeds of sheep and the farming methods used.
Wooltrace is a high quality worsted spun wool. It is a strong, medium-soft yarn with excellent stitch definition, suitable for all types of garments. It is available in a fashionable palette of 16 retro colours.
