Contrasts: Textured Knitting by Meiju K-P
In her debut book (published by Laine Publishing) Meiju K-P shares with us her love of texture. Her designs showcase texture in all its forms - elaborate lace, beautiful cables and carefully finished details - but still at the same time fun to knit. As a designer, Meiju likes to combine challenging techniques with a pleasant knitting experience.
The book includes 22 original patterns, including 9 sweaters, 5 cardigans, 4 shawls, 1 poncho and 3 hats, in a soft, delicate and feminine style, designed by Meiju to be functional and well-fitting. The sweaters and cardigans are mostly knitted from the top down, making their size easy to adjust.
Meiju lives in Helsinki, Finland with her husband and three sons. Even as a teenager, she never knitted from patterns, preferring to create her own designs. Later, knitwear design became a passionate hobby and part-time job. She hopes to spark new ideas for beginners and more experienced knitters.
