The Aksak sweater is a collaboration between Orlane Sucche and Laine des Iles.
The term "Aksak" refers to a particular rhythmic pattern found in the folk music of the Balkans. The name of this broken and irregular rhythm is a good fit for this textured sweater with its repeating and changing pattern, which makes for a stylish, comfortable and warm garment.
Aksak is a sweater for fans of attractive and understated textures. Pennine is the ideal yarn for this sweater, with its superb definition for textured stitches.
Aksak is much easier to knit than it looks and is very easy to wear. Pretty details on the ribbing add a delicate touch to the sweater.
The garment is knitted in the round from the top down. Starting with the neckline, the yoke is knitted and then the sleeve stitches are put on hold. Once the body is finished, the sleeves are also worked in the round down to the cuffs.
