Jamieson & Smith Shetland Heritage Naturals
This yarn has been replicated from yarn found in knitted Fair Isle garments in the collection of the Shetland Museum and Archives. The museum curators together with wool experts, specialist dyers and knitters have worked together to recreate this yarn which is worsted spun to give it a soft feel and a smooth finish. The yarn is slightly finer than modern 4-ply, but instead it gives a definition and complexity of colour that goes right back to the 19th century.
Expanding on the success of the Shetland Heritage range, the Natural Collection rounds off the palette with six undyed colours. These natural shades also combine beautifully with the original dyed shades sold separately in 25gm balls.
